Straighteners for Sale – Sheet & Strip Coil Straightening Machines
At Sterling Machinery Exchange, we sell sheet/strip straighteners engineered to remove coil set and feed flat material into downstream equipment. These straighteners work inline with a payoff reel or powered reel (uncoiler) to deliver consistent, level stock to a punch press, roll former, laser, or cut-to-length line. We offer new, used, and rebuilt systems sized for your coil width, thickness, and line speed—plus buy/sell/trade support nationwide.
Why Use a Sheet/Strip Straightener?
• Flat, Repeatable Stock: Removes coil set and waviness for accurate forming and stamping
• Higher Throughput: Stable feeding improves die life and reduces scrap
• Press-Ready: Pairs with reel + straightener + (servo) feeder for turnkey coil lines
• Versatile Materials: HR, CR, stainless, aluminum, and high-strength sheet
Buy or Trade a Straightener
Tell us your coil width and thickness range, line speed, and downstream machine (press tonnage/die) and we’ll recommend the right straightener and feeder package. Sterling supplies inspected used units and rebuilt machines with modern controls. We also buy and trade straighteners if you’re upgrading your coil line.
How to Choose a Sheet/Strip Straightener
Match the straightener’s capacity and roll design to your coil specs and the accuracy needed by your press or downstream machine.
1) Coil Width, Thickness & Yield
Confirm min/max width and thickness (gauge) plus material strength (yield). Thin stainless and HSLA may require more work rolls or smaller roll diameters for effective set removal.
2) Work Rolls & Backups
More work rolls with proper backup support improve flatness and reduce roll deflection. Smaller roll diameter helps on light gauges; larger diameters suit heavier sheet.
3) Pinch Rolls, Adjustment & Control
Entry/exit pinch rolls stabilize threading; choose manual, hydraulic, or servo roll depth adjustment. Look for digital indicators, recipe storage, and closed-loop setups for repeatability.
4) Line Integration
Straighteners typically run between an uncoiler (payoff/powered reel) and a feeder (air, mechanical, or servo feed) ahead of the press or cutter. Verify passline height, loop control, and communication with upstream/downstream equipment.
5) Surface Protection & Maintenance
Consider polished or coated rolls for aluminum/stainless, debris brushes, and easy-access covers for cleaning. Proper lubrication and filtration extend roll life and preserve finish.
New, Used & Rebuilt Options
Quality used straighteners can be rebuilt with updated electrics, drives, and safety to deliver OEM-level performance at better value. Sterling provides inspection, financing, appraisals, rigging, and nationwide delivery. Call (626) 444-0311 to speak with a coil-line specialist.
